What Is An Archive In Outlook?
Outlook Archive (and AutoArchive) moves old emails, tasks, and calendar items to an archive folder stored elsewhere on your hard drive. This will allow you to reduce the size of your mailbox and free up space on the C: drive (if you want to save the archive file elsewhere).
Depending on how you configured it, the Outlook archive can do one of the following:
- Move emails and other items from their current folders to the archive folder.
- Permanently delete old emails and other items after the specified time.
