What Is The Cause Of This Problem?

If your Windows 10 computer is equippedAs a CD or DVD drive, there are several problems that may prevent it from working or not. These include:

  • Bad recording. Sometimes it’s not the drive, it’s the CD. Try another drive and see what happens.
  • Wrong disc type. If you have a CD-ROM drive and insert a DVD, it won’t work. If you try to play or burn a Blu-ray disc in a regular DVD player, that won’t work either.
  • You have not installed the correct player software. Believe it or not, Windows 10 doesn’t have a DVD software installed. So when you try to play a DVD movie on your Windows 10 PC, it just doesn’t work, at least not right away. You need to download and install the DVD player application. You can find some good ones in the Microsoft Store.
  • It could have been a faulty Windows update. The regular Windows updates that Microsoft installs for your system can sometimes cause unexpected problems. If your CD / DVD drive stops working immediately afterupdating Windows, you can try uninstalling the update. (Open the Settings window and select Update
