    Over the past few weeks, some of our readers have reported that they have encountered optical drives enabled in Device Manager.

     

     

    On Windows 7 8 and 1, to open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    1. Press any Windows logo key R + to open the widely used Run dialog box.

    2. Enter the control in the Run dialog box andpress Enter.

    3. Sort the troubleshooting information in the search box on the control panel and click Troubleshoot.

    4. Under Hardware, in addition to Sound, click Configure Solution. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, enter the password or turn on confirmation.

    1. Make sure the drive is properly enabled in BIOS. BIOS items are device dependent. If you are probably unsure of how to check these drive settings in your device’s contact bios, check with your personal device manufacturer.

    2. Also make sure that the computer manufacturer is affected if the disc was included, or the manufacturer of your disc if it was purchased separately, that the device chipset drivers are up-to-date.

    1. Press some Windows logo keys + R to open the dialogthe “Run” window.

    2. Type devmgmt in the Run dialog box for msc and press Enter. When prompted for a better admin password or form confirmation, enter the password or select Allow

    3. Display your DVD / CD-ROM drives in Device Manager, right-click the CD and therefore DVD devices and select Uninstall.

    4. If you are prompted to confirm that you want to allow the device to be removed, click OK.

    5. Restart your computer.

    To update these drivers, search for the driver on the device manufacturer’s website and follow the installation instructions on most websites.

    1. From the very beginning, search for Device Manager. From these specific search results, open Device Manager and select the Show Now menu. Select Show hidden devices.

    2. Expand IDE / ATAPI Controllers, then expand:

        Select ATA Channel 0, right click it, then click Delete

      • Right click on ATA Channel 1, then just click Delete

      • Also right-click “Standard Dual Link PCI IDE Controller” then click “Uninstall”

      • If there are other entries, right-click and select Delete

    3. Reboot the machine.

    This issue can be caused by two corrupted Windows registry entries. To use Registry Editor to remove corrupted registry entries, follow these steps:

    1. Press any Windows logo key + R to open the Run chat window.

    2. Enter regedit in the entire Run dialog box, then enter reporters. If you are asked for an administrator password or confirmation by type, password and / or select “Authorize”

    3. Under Routing, find and select our own registry subkey below:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Control Class 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318

    4. Select UpperFilters in the right pane.

      Note. You can also see the excellent UpperFilters.bak registry entry. It is your responsibility not to delete this entry. Just click on UpperFilters. If you undoubtedly see the UpperFilters registry entry, you may still need to delete the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 7.

    5. Change the “Delete” option in the menu.

    6. When you are usually asked to confirm deletion, select Yes.

    7. Select “LowerFilters” in the right pane.

      Note. If you don’t see the LowerFilters registry entry for sure, go to the next method.

    8. Improve the “Delete” option in the menu.

    9. When you are usually asked to confirm deletion, select Yes.

    10. Register

      Close the editor.

    11. Restart your computer.

    • Carefully follow some of the steps in this section. Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before setting it up, back up your Windows registry in case of illness.

    • After using this method, some applications, such as CD or DVD burning software, may not work correctly. If so, try uninstalling and reinstalling the affected application. Check with the creator of the instance to see if the latest version is available.

    NOTE. You can also examine the UpperFilters an.bak registry entry. You do not need to revoke this permission. Just click on UpperFilters. If you don’t actually see the UpperFilters registry permission, you may still need to delete the LowerFilters registry entry. To deal with this, go to step 7.

    Note. If you don’t see the Lowerfilters entry in the registry, go to the Nea methodr.

    Note. To use this method, you must be logged on to Windows as an administrator. To see if you’re unfortunately signed in as a quality administrator, go to your control panel, select User Accounts, and then select Manage User Accounts.

    1. Press Windows logo key + R to even open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type regedit in the Run text box and press Enter. If you are frequently asked for an administrator password, you can confirm it, change it, or select Allow.

    3. In the main navigation pane, locate the following registry subkey:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services atapi

    4. Right click on Atapi, select New and select Key.

    5. activate optical ide drives in device manager

      Type controller0 and press Enter.

    6. Right-click Controller0, go back to New and select Value th DWORD (32 bits) “.

    7. Type EnumDevice1 and press Enter.

    8. Right click on EnumDevice1 and select Modify ….

    9. Step 1

      Enter Computer Files in the Value field and click OK.

    10. Register

      Close the editor.

    11. Restart your computer.

    Remarks

    • activate optical ide drives in device manager

      To use this method, customers must be logged in as an administrator before accessing Windows. To make sure most of you are logged in as the best administrator, go to the panel, select User Accounts, then click Manage User Accounts.

    • This method should be used for Windows 7, Windows 8 or 1, or possibly Windows 10 1507. Issues fixed with this method should not appear on Windows 10 1511 and may occur later.

    Important! As a general rule, follow the instructions for this method carefully. UndoubtedHowever, serious problems can arise if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before converting, back up the registry to restore in case of a problem.

    You may need to reinstall the driver in Device Manager. Start the Windows 10 desktop, optionally launch Device Manager using the Windows key + X urgent key and click Device Manager. Expand your DVD / CD-ROM drives, right-click the specified optical drive and select Uninstall. Windows 10 will recognize the drive and reinstall it.

    Try this – Control Panel – Device Manager – CD / DVD – double click the device – Drivers tab – click Update Driver (probably nothing will happen) – then RIGHT CLICK on the disc – UNINSTALL – RESTART. This will update the driver. default stack. Even if you don’t really see the disc, continue below.
