    Reason

    These 10016 competitions are registered when Microsoft accessories try to access DCOM components, some of them without the required permissions. This behavior is expected and expected in this bag.

    In the popular coding model, code first tries to access DCOM components with a specific set of parameters. If the main attempt fails, it will try again with a different parameter set to. The reason it doesn’t skip the first try just yet is because there are usually scenarios in which it can get through. This is preferred in scripting.

    Workaround

    These events m It should be ignored as they should not affect functionality and are almost always provided. This is the recommended action for such events.

    If desired, power users and IT pros can hide these points in the event viewer. To do this, create an XML request separately from the filter and edit it manually, similar to the one on the right after the following:

                      * [System [(EventID = 10016)]]      and      * [Event data [        (          Data [@ name = 'param4'] and data = 'D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160' and          Data [@ name = 'param5'] and data = '9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276' and          Data [@ name = 'param8'] and data = 'S-1-5-18'        )        Where        (Data [@ name = 'param4'] and data = '260EB9DE-5CBE-4BFF-A99A-3710AF55BF1E' and          Data [@ name = 'param5'] and data = '260EB9DE-5CBE-4BFF-A99A-3710AF55BF1E'        )        Where        (          Data [@ name = 'param4'] and data = 'C2F03A33-21F5-47FA-B4BB-156362A2F239' and          Data [@ name = 'param5'] and data = '316CDED5-E4AE-4B15-9113-7055D84DCC97' and          Data [@ name = 'param8'] and data = 'S-1-5-19'        )        Where        (          Data [@ name = 'param4'] and data = '6B3B8D23-FA8D-40B9-8DBD-B950333E2C52' and          Data [@ name = 'param5'] and / or data = '4839DDB7-58C2-48F5-8283-E1D1807D0D7D' and          Data [@ name = 'param8'] and data = 'S-1-5-19'        )      ]]
      Thus,

    • param4 corresponds to the CLSID COM server application.
    • param5 compare with APPID.
    • param8 matches any SID security context.

    For more information on manually creating events based on user requests, see Using Events .

    There are other ways to fix this problem other than changing read / write access to DCOM components to prevent logging an error with this approach. However, most do not recommend this method because:

    • These errors do not affect functionality.
    • Changing read / write access can have unintended undesirable consequences.

    If you receive a DCOM error with event ID 10016, the program tried to start a DCOM server using the DCOM framework, but the website visitor does not have the required permissions to market. This DCOM error can be completely harmless, but listening to and fixing it all the time can be annoying.
