Rule 4: “PM sent!” Messages (or how to use private messages)

This forum has an important private messaging feature that we need for messages that are not of general interest to other members.

In short, if you reply in a thread and this response is literally addressed to a specific person and therefore not interested in other things (neither now nor in the future), then you are posting to the place where the personal information is stored.

During the some obvious examples where you shouldn’t reply in a new conversation and instead use the PM configuration:

• “PM sent!” : Do not tell others that you have created a personal account … the software tool will inform the other person what awaits him.
• “How much delivery in …”: This is definitely a very specific and specific issue that nobody cares about.

Why do we have the following policy? Sending “PM sent!” type message wastes others’ time scrolling through a message in an important thread that looks new if the update is not essential. And the person to whom you usually send your personal account will be notified by the forum software from which he received the message. New members are moderated directly, so we can quickly weed out spammers on the go. This means that the first thing you do is get it own 10 messages with a certain delay before they become visible. We understand that this could disrupt communication and are committed to meeting our new user moderation responsibilities to avoid unnecessary inconvenience. Please do not create duplicate posts, do not add various other posts to expand your post, and do not ask moderators to speed up this process; 10 moderate messages will pass quickly.

New users also get a smaller inbox for private messages and are limited to writing private messages to other users.

• Use Google, manuals, other sources, or individual sources. A lot of information is played out there.
• Don’t let people guess what you want to say to others; not mind readers. Clear and concise.
• Spelling and grammar are not assessed, but are easier to read.
