This is one of the many frustrating error messages you will ever encounter. Sometimes the solution is likely to be simple, sometimes it’s a complete condition. After getting interested in this just recently, I decided to post my headers in hopesthat someone else will allow it.
So you get the message “A terrible disk parsing error has occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to reboot.” Multiple restarts result in the same error message.
If you connect your drive to another computer, or almost slave it to your own system, it usually works fine and no data is lost.
Because not all errors are usually related to lost documents, DO NOT REPARTITION THE DISK. Your data is probably safe and sound.
Run the desktop cleanup utility. This will remove any files that may be causing the memory save error.Defragment your computer. In some cases, this may solve the problem.Memory test.Check cables and wires.Check your hard drive.Reset the exact bios.Reinstall your computer’s memory.Replace memory.
Here’s how to recover your data. Try each of the steps below in the Strategy section and see if your transformations are available after each step. In this experiment, you still won’t see good results until step 5.

CHKDSK rush /R /P
from therapy console (usually doesn’t find the error)

FIXBOOT
from console version (usually to no avail)
- 3. Run
FIXMBR
from recovery console (usually to no avail)
- 4. Run the manufacturer’s diagnostic utility downloaded from their website(usually it does not find the error).
- 5. Changing the cable drive to master/slave may solve the problem.
- 6. Replacing the data cable may solve the problem, but not always.
- 7. Setting the BIOS to use the default settings may solve the problem, but this is often not the case.
- 8. Changing the disk temperature in BIOS from auto to LBA selection might fix this somehow.
- 9. Draining the CMOS battery to lose BIOS settings can help.
At this point, you may show some frustration. 🙂
If all else fails, the following usually works:
Migrate your data to the new brand and partially use the original as a slave. It will work. And all your data will always be available. Your computer should start naturally. If not, or it’s an error, run the “Repair Installation” option from the Windows boot CD.
