I went through this issue just as well, it turned out to be my current .erlang.Even-Cookie , although I was pretty sure I would get it for the same price on both machines (still good for double checks).
It is possible that only one .erlang.cookie is being used, depending on what Rabbitmq is running. If they were started with an init script, then only /var/lib/rabbitmq/.erlang.cookie should be correct. If customers ran Rabbitmq this way, rabbitmq-server -dependent , it could be in the user’s home directory.
