| Microsoft Event: Reason: This event is logged when the server cannot register service name “TERMSRV” for web server authentication. : Register a service principal name for the terminal server To resolve this issue, register a service principal name (SPN) for the server device. Note. Note. Terminal Services tries to record the SPN every time this computer starts up. To register the primary SPN, the terminal server must choose to connect to the domain of the Active Directory controller. If the spn is not registered, Kerberos authentication is always available for client connections. NTLM authentication can be used if the administrator has not explicitly rejected it. Complete this procedure. Are you a member of the Domain Admins group on the domain, or should buyers be in the highest authority. To register an SPN: 1. Open an instant command window on the important server. To open a window for a Command Prompt command, click the Start button, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK. 2.
