Here are some easy ways that might help you fix HP dl180g6 BIOS update issue.

I have successfully updated the BIOS as well as the iLO firmware as these updates come with a bootable USB stick. Friendly and easy.
Unfortunately, this may not apply to backplane or RAID controller firmware updates. These are usually Linux executables. I tried them with no success on XenServer 6.5.
The Installation Instructions for all of these firmware updates instruct you to use the appropriate Easy Firmware Maintenance DVD or installation CD to install the updates. However, I do not have both, and usually the link to them does not work like on the Installation Instructions page for periodic firmware updates (I get an error when opening the page, the HP web server was unable to generate it).
I have often practiced the art of searching these CDs on Google and have had no luck.
