    Compaq NC6400 BIOS issue?

With the relevance to speedypro, I decided to create my own discussion thread.

Some time ago I was programming the BIOS microchip on this Compaq nc6400 laptop. First, there is no random display, turned off and restarted at that moment, luckily it shows up and indicates that most of something has been changed and, in my opinion, suggests saving the changes. But I make cars. plugged into any keyboard, so I decided to turn it off by pressing the power button. When I connect the keyboard to my thumb, I turn on the laptop and the ottoman is again without a display.

I just wanted to know if the bios was dead. Until then, this is really a working know 2 days ago. Indeed, that’s why I chose bios. I noticed that the CMOS battery was low, so I replaced it, which is really happening. I don’t think the video clip chip was involved, it seemed well ventilated, just the heatsink was not clogged. What do you think? Thank you all,

With Obe to speedypro, I decided to create my own discussion thread.

Received a semi-automatic or fully automatic BIOS chip from Personal Compaq nc6400 some time ago. At first there is no display, it is turned off and restarted, luckily it shows up and categorizes that something has been changed and prompts me to save the changes. But I don’t have a keyboard connected, so I decided to press the power button to turn it off. When I turn on the USB keyboard, the laptop turns on and the screen goes blank again.

I just recently wanted to know if the bios is missing. Before that, the laptop was used 2 days a week. And this morning you just can’t show it anymore, not even sleepguns. That’s why I decided to sign Bios. Drew attention to the weak CMOS layout. So I replaced everything that was. I can’t imagine which video chip is involved, as it is well ventilated and the heatsink is not clogged. What do you think? Thank you all

I am developing nc6400. You need to flash to F.0B using flash memory for Windows / Vista operating system:

    nc6400 bios issue

However, the BIOS may not update if your family is using Windows 7. I have heard of some reports of soul abuse when some people run nc6400 with Windows 7.

I agree and David is 100%. If the new BIOS version does not fix the problem you may have, or you need to exit the BIOS so that it can support new hardware, for example. it was so good. Always read the release notes included with each BIOS version and list any fixes and therefore improvements.

In addition, you should always always disable or even uninstall your antivirus before flashing the BIOS too much The old Windows environment. If you do and don’t do it, it is possible that your antivirus program might think that a virus is attacking your current BIOS and will try to hack your flash memory. You will know that everything is in order until you restart your computer and find it useless.

You might even want to flash the BIOS to the correct Windows mode.

    4) Disconnect the RTC (Real Time Clock) battery (located under the keyboard, corresponding red and white cable)

5a) I reconnected the AC adapter and restarted the laptop at this point (before the RTC RTC was reconnected). This will erase the CMOS memory.

    7) Reconnect the AC adapter (DO NOT CHANGE BATTERIES!)

    8) Turn on your computer and you will see you enter BIOS by pressing F10

    9) Set a new BIOS password (if necessary) and save all settings.

One of the leaders of the forums deserves special attention, but I recently recorded information about such problems on my hard drive. So pay tribute to the unknown …. 🙂 Hope it helps.
