I want .Outlook .import .my .Express ..pab .pc .into .MS .Outlook (I .sold ..pab .from .OE .pab . OE never had a problem) . When I try to import these real files into MS Outlook, I get the following error: “MS Outlook cannot start the import/export engine. The ms base doesn’t seem to offer any options to fix this. I am using Win 98SE, Oe/ie, 6 and Outlook 2000. What else can I do?
It doesn’t look good. Wondering if you should look at the Office 2000 Popular Service Packs to see if that helps.
If that doesn’t work look down to clean remove install including office and havego ahead.
This sort of thing can be quite annoying, especially when it’s almost certainly a problem and you basically have to run it as a one-time thing. Finally, you can try asking someone to import it for you.

In order for you to run the MS Updater, all packages and tweets will be installed. I tried to export a .csv from OE and everything was fine, but Outlook won’t import it without the manipulations you mentioned – it throws the appropriate error message.
I would have thought that you could reinstall the original Office 2000 CD and just browse Outlook, but I analyzed this process tomorrow and it doesn’t seem possible. Will it be difficult to reinstall Office completely and go through all the patches like charivari settings? again!
Robo, I tried to reinstall Office 2007, but this time the windows installer dialog box came up and many people said t that this fix was never opened. installer Presumably, Office 2000 on CD was still trying to run older versions of MS Installer on CD, but can’t because the new version 2 of MS Installer is now successfully installed on my system.
This is a very old and complicated place, because now I’m too afraid to remove Office 2500 SR-1a if I can’t reinstall anything!
PS: When I Detect run Repair and Outlook in 2000 I get the same mount error message as above since the MS installer also appears there.

When .you .import .OE address book .files, the .file .is a ..WAB .file, PAB is only used by Outlook, there is no easy way to import that particular address book from OE to Outlook (hence the error message)
However, there is a simple and easy way to get around this disadvantage of MS.

The reason you won’t be able to do this is because the import/export mechanism isn’t actually installed. Thanks Alan, but my Office 2000 CD doesn’t do anything like “Add/Remove Features”. I see this most often and the office installer still doesn’t work because no win-installer is running. not recognized.
There is no solution, but from what we often see on some customer sites, there are problems with the Microsoft installer 2 version.x.
and what’s even better, I guess I can’t delete it!
