Use the FIXMBR command from the Windows XP Recovery Console to repair the MBR boot partition.

Warning This command may corrupt the partition table itself if a virus is clearly present or there is a hardware problem. When using this recovery, you may create inaccessible partitions. We recommend that you run your antivirus software before using this command. We also recommend that you back up your actual data before using this recovery. If the FIXMBR command finds an invalid or non-standard visa partition table, the FIXMBR command will ask permission before rewriting the MBR. The FIXMBR command is only supported on x86 computers.
