To troubleshoot and resolve Windows Firewall issues, follow these steps:

1. Download Microsoft’s Windows Firewall Troubleshooter.
2. Double-click the WindowsFirewall.diagcab file.

3. Click Next.

4. Based on the result, the troubleshooter will select the option that fixes the problem.

5. If everything works as expected, click Close the troubleshooter.

If the troubleshooter was unable to resolve the issue, click the View Details link to view each report with all the issues the troubleshooter tried to resolve, including file and printer sharing data collection, Remote Assistant issues , Unable to run Windows Firewall or related products ovs and services (e.g. BFE services).

How To Reset Windows Firewall

Alternatively, if the troubleshooter didn’t find an error, the issue might be caused by a specific setting previously configured on your device. In this case, you can try again to prevent the current configuration and restore the default Windows Firewall settings.

Important! After fixing the default settings, you may need to reconfigure applications that require permission through the firewall.

To reset any Windows firewall to its default values, you can do the following:

1. Open the control panel.
2. Click System and Security.

3. Click next to Windows Firewall.
