error updating local id file cannot write or create file

My Lotus Notes Domino server has run out of disk space and now I have several mailboxes that are having problems retrieving and deleting e-mail. We get the error “The file could not be written or created (the file or disk is write-protected).” I checked the file permissions and they look correct. What do you think is the problem?

As you can see, When you run out of space, trouble happens. I would suggest shutting down your Lotus Domino server and deleting all * .tmp and log.nsf files. The log may be damaged. In this case, you cannot write transactions. This also leads to errors.

In the worst case, zip files may need to be compressed or recovered from tape. This situation is an example of why it is important that the correct monitors are running on your Lotus Domino server and hardware. Situations like this can harm you for several days while you try to fix the problem.
