Over the past few days, some of our users have reported that they have encountered Outlook Personal Folder Recovery.

Click the Account Settings link, then click Data Files. The paths to your personal folders are displayed in a dialog box on the screen.

Reasons For Missing Outlook Folders

There are a number of reasons why Outlook folders might be missing. The problem can be one of the following:

  • Some of your Outlook folders are hidden.
  • The folder was accidentally deleted
  • Outlook not syncing with server
  • The file in the private folder is corrupted.

Automatically Launch The Inbox Repair Tool

Run the Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe). Then, in the File Download dialog box, select Open or Run and follow the instructions in the Easy Fix wizard.

To manually start the Inbox Repair Tool, use Microsoft Windows Explorer to locate one of the folders andDouble-click the Scanpst.exe file.

Step 2. Recover The PST File

In the Inbox Repair Tool, enter the path and filename of your Personal Folder (PST) or click Browse to find File in the Windows file system, and then click “Start”.

Step 3. Recover The Recovered Items In A New PST File

After you run the Inbox Repair Tool, you can start Outlook and restore any repaired items. Optionally, you can try to .

Start by creating a new PST file entry (personal folders) in your profile. Then you can move the recovered items to a new Personal Folders (PST) file.

  1. Start Outlook. If you use multiple profiles in Outlook, be sure to select the profile that contains the Personal Folders (PST) file that you want to recover.

  2. Press Ctrl 6 to activate the folder list view.

  3. In the list of folders, you should see the following recovered folders:
