This tutorial will identify some of the possible causes that can lead to errors in the Linked Table Manager. Next, I will provide you with several possible recovery methods that you can try to fix this problem.

The Linked Table Manager is the central place for viewing and managing all data sources and linked tables in your Access database. From time to time, you may need to update, link, find, modify, or drop related tables because the data source location, table name, or table schema have changed.

I created a new database in Access 2016 and separated the front-end and back-end. The problem is, when I try to use the linked table manager, I get an error on two of my tables. This is the same error

“Job” is not a valid name. Make sure it does not contain invalid characters, punctuation marks and is not too long. My other table with this error is “Site”

This cannot be the size of the name because I have other 4 letter arrays for names.

Is there a way to force the link?

I would drop and recreate the linked table (External Data tab on the ribbon) and check if there are any errors in the link with this BE. Then try again.
