1. Open the control panel from the start menu.

2. Open Programs and Features in Control Panel.

3. In the left column of the Programs and Features window, select Turn Windows features on or off.

4. Uncheck Windows Media Center and click OK.

5. Click “Restart Now” to restart your computer.

6. Activate the media center again using the control panel.

7. Try starting Media Center.

Also run an SFC scan to check for missing or damaged files that could be causing this issue.
