Last week, some of our readers informed us that my system restore is not working. Click System. Select System Protection and go to the System Protection tab. Select the drive you want to make sure System Restore is enabled (enabled or disabled) and click Configure. Make sure that Restore system settings and previous versions of files is selected.

What Happens If The Backup Is On A Different Computer?

Users can restore their files even if they were backed up remotely on another computer. Follow the instructions above, but instead of choosing “Restore my files” click “Choose another backup to restore files.”

After the user has selected the desired source for backup, prompts will guide the user to restore it to its previous state.

Start Startup Repair

When you get to the point where the System Recovery Options menu appears, you can click “Startup Repair” and follow the instructions in the wizard. Finally, advanced startup options appear so you can click Repair Your Computer and follow the additional instructions to begin the recovery process. After completing the repair, restart the computer according to thewith instructions.

Failed To Fix Problems

Vista Startup Repair is good for finding and fixing missing or corrupted system files. A damaged system file can cause minor problems or prevent your computer from starting correctly. If you have other problems that you hoped Startup Repair would fix, those problems may persist even after you close the program. It cannot recover documents and other personal files, and you cannot use it as a backup tool. Startup Repair also cannot fix hardware problems like hard drive failure or motherboard failure.
