    What Is “system Error 5”?

Microsoft describes “System Error 5” as ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. Access is usually denied because you do not have sufficient system rights to execute the command.

How To Fix “System Error 5. Access Denied”. Windows 10 And 7 Command Line Error

The Command Prompt is available on most Windows operating systems and is used to execute over 280 commands. This tool performs tasks through a simple command line interface. It runs the same commands that we usually run through the Windows graphical user interface (GUI), but in a different way. To use the command line, you need to enter a valid command with optional parameters that will then be executed to perform one of the many available tasks.

While using the command line, you might encounter a “System error 5 has occurred” error indicating that access was denied to execute a specific command. This error usually occurs when you are trying to run a command that requires you to run Command Prompt as administrator with administrator privileges. Sometimes just log in to your Windows account ase admin is not enough. You will also need to use an elevated command prompt. It is easy to tell if the Command Prompt window you are opening is elevated: if the title of the window is “Command Prompt”, it is NOT elevated. If the title of the window is Administrator: Command Prompt, it will grow.

If a user opens a Command Prompt from the Start menu (or by clicking the Command Prompt output elsewhere), the non-administrative version of the Command Prompt will start and users will not be able to stop running certain commands that require administrative privileges. To run the command prompt with elevated privileges, you need to complete an extra step (possibly more, depending on how you started the command prompt). This guide describes how to open Command Prompt as administrator in Windows 7 and 10 and access commands that require administrator rights. This avoids the “A system error 5 has occurred” error. Note that these methods will only work if you useYou are a Windows Administrator account.
