Domain Server 2008 R2. There was a problem with the network connection this morning and now the RA has stopped working. When I try to connect to my PC, the error message “Failed to send an offer for help” appears. This happens with all the computers I try, including the computers in this building, on the same subnet.

The funny thing is that remote desktop works great.

I restarted my computer unsuccessfully. I restarted the target computer without success. Seems like a server issue. Ideas?

Edit: Ultimately the network hiccups had nothing to do with the problem. This was a Group Policy issue and a connectivity issue might have forced my computer to switch to new settings.

Fixed! There is one more Group Policy setting that needs fixing. For posterity, these are two parameters:

ï “¿Provide remote assistance in Computer Configuration Administrative Templates System Remote Assistance

and

ï “¿Remote Desktop User” ¿under Computer Configuration Windows Settings Security Settings Restricted Groups
