I know others are trying to help, but I’m pretty sure none of the above solved the problem because I had the same problem as you. Here’s what I found:

Steps:

1 – Open the temporary folder with: Start -> Run (type Run or shortcut d in the Search programs and files box) -> Enter% temp% in the Run box (this will open a temporary file. ) folder);

2 – Go to the CD system recovery tool (Yes, I know there is no CD in the drive): Start -> All Programs -> Maintenance -> Create System Recovery CD

3 – As soon as you click the create CD button, the message “Failed to create recovery CD. There is no media in the device. ” is displayed. Everything is fine, ONLY keep closing this message. The windows for creating the system recovery CD MUST be open.

4 – Now, in the temporary folder, you can see a new file called somesortofbignumber.iso, about 100 or 200 MB in size (if you don’t see it, press F5 to refresh the folder). However, you cannot move, copiersor whatever from the file, because the system will indicate that it is in use. This is your ISO file that you can’t do anything with yet. So, in this part, you need to use a program that can handle these types of files. I used the one called unlock.

5 – After installing Unlocker, all you need to do is: right click on “somesortofbignumber.iso” -> select “Unlocker” -> select the “Copy” option and the destination folder (remember that if you want rename the file, don’t forget the end of the “.iso”.

Then you can search for USB tool from ISO file.

It worked for me, good luck.

What Is A Recovery And Recovery Drive?

Major PC makers no longer give their customers a real Windows 7 installation DVD when they buy a computer.

You can use the Windows 7 installation DVD to restore your computer, not just a copy of Windows 7. The DVD includes a “Recovery Center” that provides you with automatic repair options (attempts to automatically(About fixing detected errors), System Recovery (restores your computer to a previous working state), or you can access the command line for more advanced recovery options.

Instead, customers are expected to create recovery media themselves — on CD, DVD, or USB stick.

The manufacturer may have added a recovery partition to your hard drive. But what if your computer or Windows isn’t working or you’ve lost the hard drives you had?

If you cannot start Windows or your computer is down, the only thing that can be restored is Bootable CD / DVD / USB Repair and Recovery.

Method One: From An Existing Windows 7 System Recovery CD

1. Download and install a trial version of PowerISO. If you have any other software that you like that creates an ISO file from a CD, like ImgBurn, etc., you can use that as well. Beware of adware when installing PowerISO.

2. Start PowerISO, then re Go to the menu “Advanced” -> “Create CD / DVD / BD Image File”.

3. Select the destination file as “ISO File” and then select a location and file name for the saved file. Make sure the original drive is correct. When you’re ready to create, click OK.

In a minute or two, the ISO will be created and can be transferred to USB.

To create an image using another popular ISO utility called UltraISO, if you prefer PowerISO:

1a. Download and install the trial version of UltraISO.

2a. Launch UltraISO (right click and run as administrator), go to Advanced -> Create CD / DVD Image or press F8.

3a. Click the button to select the location and filename for the output file. Make sure your drive is selected, then click Create. ISO output format should be selected by default.

On page 2, we’ll show you how to get a recovery ISO from a system without an optical drive and burn the ISO image to USB.
