How Do I Resolve An Unexpected Dcom Error? Access Not Allowed

It looks like some readers have encountered a known error code in which an unexpected dcom error was prevented. Several factors can cause this problem. Now we will deal with them.

There are two websites running on my IIS 7.5. Both are on port 80. Since both are on the same port, I have to stop one in order to start the other. I am not using the built-in Cassini server. Debugging works correctly when using Cassini.

The problem I am facing is that when I try to debug my MVC app (which was created on the second website) I get the following error message:

Unable to start debugging on the web server. Unexpected DCOM error An error occurred while trying to automatically connect to a remote site Server. Try to manually connect to the remote web server Join the process dialog.

Windows authentication is enabled in the web application. Ideas?

More information: I can “connect to a process” and debug it. But can’t debug with F5
