Thanks for the letter. I’ve tried setting it to 2G. I was a little confused as the default download option always pointed to 4G.

I will restart it immediately after making changes tonight and then update it. In the meantime, what else should I check?

Your SIM card holder is probably damaged. This may require replacing the motherboard.

Hi Kenny / DimOff, I tried to set up the network under Mobile Connections to 2G and restarted. When he came back after rebooting, he was still on “No Service – No Sim”
I tried the same setup with these two actions
1. After setting the speed to 2G and transferring data to No, the phone was gently rebooted.2. And Remove the SIM card and make sure it snaps into place to hold it in place.
Anyway – it was “No SIM card or service”
I am surprised that a working phone may suddenly have a SIM / motherboard failure. I can check something else, please …
We appreciate your time …

Thank!Anand M.

I had exactly the same problem with 920.

When I searched the networks, he “saw” them, but simply did not register with them.

In the end I found information pointing to a 920 SIM reader (shared with the N9 and L800) and is known to have problems.

I bought a spare online and took it to a cell phone repair shop so they can replace the SIM card reader with their hot air soldering iron. It worked!

I learned that replacing a part can be more labor intensive than it actually is.

There are 12 small solder joints between the SIM card reader and the motherboard, one at the front and one at the back of each pin. I guess all I really had to do was use the tip on a good old fashionable soldering iron and I could Heat individual joints one at a time. The attached image shows the back of the SIM card reader so you can figure out where the connections are.

If I can help you please point it this way.

After I threw my cell phone against the wall in desperation, I saw that 2 of the 6 contacts of the SIM card reader had been hacked. I’m not sure if this is the result of a thrown wall, but if it isn’t, that’s probably why my sim wouldn’t read this. Note – tossing does not help.

Even if you go to Nokia’s website, there is absolutely nothing on the support pages about it, although this is clearly a common problem. I’m starting to think what they should havecall that phone back, but they avoid the problem. Don’t worry Nokia Now you need to annoy the buyer less.
