- Open the link for update KB2729094: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30521 (Win7 32-bit) or http://www.microsoft.com/ en-us /download/details.aspx?id=30566 (Win7 64-bit)
- Install the update frequently. (You may be told that the update has already been installed)
- Go to Windows Update and try again to update the specific update “Internet Explorer 11 requires Windows for 7”.
- If that doesn’t work…
- Open a log file like: C:WindowsIE11_main.log and scroll down to the latest IE11 installation section. You will see a line like this: KBxxxxxxx should not be downloaded, no longer installed.
- Search MS for downloads containing the KB track and try to install it. Try installing IE11 after that.
- If this still doesn’t work…
- Rename the SoftwareDistribution file (Google instructions) and try with #1.
- Or…
- Go to MS Downloads and get a full download of IE11. Experts advise installing it.
- Or…
- Remove the KB listed in IE11_main.log, then reinstallYes and try again starting at #1.
