While I was thinking about writing this article, I came across an interestinggram. In the screenshot, you can see three files with their own media information displayed in the Finder.
The two files on the left appear to be exactly the same, except that at least one of them is stored on the Synology host, while the other is stored on the internal hard drive of this version of Mac Server (far left) is definitely empty. while additional information for locally stored programs shows the corresponding codec and other media information. The consistent answer is yes. However, QuickTime, the default player on Mac computers, can only handle MP4 files encoded in MPEG-2 (OS X Lion or higher), MPEG-4, and therefore in the H.264 codec.
