JavaScript Error Caused By WebForm_AutoFocus Only

      October 25, 2006 at 4:01 PM | JDSampo | LINK

      Hello!

When I use the controlname.Focus () method in my code-behind, my own HTML output shows the script generated from the call to WebForm_AutoFocus (‘controlid’). This is very good what I expected.

This works fine on my WinXP Pro development machine, but something is wrong when I deploy the application on a Server 2003 system. The page still renders correctly, unfortunately the javascript containing the execution of WebForm_AutoFocus n is not often delivered to the browser and the function call fails with an “expected object” exception.

In my opinion, these functions are usually provided by the webresource.axd handler. Is there something wrong with this Drejer-Sig in Server 2003?

I know I could run my own js function to help you, but having an element in the code is much more convenient.

      Thanks in advance!

      Well, I answered my doubts.

It turns out that when we implemented the new virtual directory servers in ’03, the mapping for the .axd files was automatically created. I guess this is also due to the fact that these servers are not at all up to date as they should be. Since there was no cartography, webresource.axd was not provided and JavaScript processes were missing for these reasons. Anyway, I added the mapping to .axd and fixed the problem.

We really have the same problem … and I’m wondering ifwhat do you mean by saying your file is linked to webresource.axd. How did customers link this file?

The weird option can be described as our developer and our test machine are working fine, our production machine has this problem (JavaScript error). Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.

When I use the controlname.Focus () method type in my code-behind, my web coding output shows a script with a new call to WebForm_AutoFocus (‘controlid’). This is fantastic, which is what I probably expected.

It works fine on my dedicated WinXP development machine, but when I install the application on a Server ’03 system, something is wrong. The search page still renders correctly, but I would say that the javascript containing the WebForm_AutoFocus function is not being passed to the browser.and the function call fails with some “expected object” exception.

In my opinion, these functions are probably available through the webresource.axd handler. Is there a project with this manager since Server 2003?

I know I can use my own js function to participate, but the code-behind functionality is much more convenient.

It was discovered that when new virtual directories were created on server 2003, the mapping to .axd files was not automatically generated. I dream about this because often these servers are outdated the way they should be. Since the map, most of which was not, webresource.axd was not passed, so JavaScript functions were missing. Anyway, added i-mapping for .axd and fixed complexities.

We are very concerned about the same problem … and I think what you meant when you told me about your linked webresource.axd file … how did you map this file?

Unusually, our dev / test machine is working fine, our production machine has this issue (JavaScript error). We appreciate any help.
